„Landszaft. Znikanie”

Volkizm głosi m.in. iż dusza człowieka jest częścią większej duszy Ludu (niem. Volk), a ta – duszy świata. Dusza Ludu kształtowana jest przez krajobraz (niem. Landschaft) i raz ukształtowana, nie podlega zmianie, a także że cechy narodowe są uzależnione od krajobrazu, w jakim ukształtował się naród na początku swoich dziejów; np. cechy Żydów ukształtowały się na pustyniach i dlatego, w myśl tej koncepcji, naród ten ma cechować płytkość, jałowość, oschłość. (…) Odwrotnością jest klimat Północy, charakteryzujący się wilgotnymi i zimnymi lasami Pragermanii, gdzie ludzie z utęsknieniem wyglądają słońca – dlatego Niemcy są ludźmi światła (Lichtmenschen); ich blond włosy i niebieskie oczy wskazują na czystość duszy. Pragermanie, jako lud osiadły, mają być ludem zakorzenionym w ziemi; Żydzi, jako pierwotni koczownicy, mają być ludem naturalnie wykorzenionym, o mentalności nomadów, niezdolnym pokochać ojczyzny i zakorzenić się trwale w jakiejkolwiek ziemi; ich nomadyzm rzekomo ujawnia się w postaci naturalnej skłonności do kosmopolityzmu. Volkistowski pejzaż – pejzaż, który pochłania
Jesteśmy więc uwikłane w różne relacje z krajobrazami. Krajobraz, składający się z dwóch słów – kraj i obraz – jest czymś po części mistycznym, w zasadzie jest ideą. Jest też obrazem całkowicie wymyślonym, potrzebnym państwu narodowemu, które posiada swój teren o wyrysowanych na mapach i oznaczonych w przestrzeni granicach. Żyć w nim może tylko ten, który należy do narodu. Volkistowski krajobraz jest krajobrazem drapieżnym dla tych, którzy nie odpowiadają wytyczonym kryteriom: niemającym odpowiedniej duszy. W tym właśnie krajobrazie postać kobiety znika. On ją pochłania, pożera. Nie zostaje po niej żaden ślad.

"Landschaft. The Disappearance"

Volkism declares, among other things, that the soul of a person is part of a larger soul of the Volk (German for "people"), and this in turn is part of the soul of the world. The soul of the Volk is shaped by the landscape (German: Landschaft) and once shaped, it does not change. It also posits that national characteristics are dependent on the landscape in which the nation was shaped at the beginning of its history; for example, the characteristics of Jews were shaped in deserts, and according to this concept, this nation is characterized by shallowness, barrenness, and dryness. The opposite is the climate of the North, characterized by moist and cold forests of ancient Germany, where people eagerly look forward to the sun, hence Germans are people of light (Lichtmenschen); their blonde hair and blue eyes indicate purity of soul. Ancient Germans, as a settled people, are supposed to be people rooted in the land; Jews, as original nomads, are supposed to be naturally uprooted, with a mentality of nomads, incapable of loving their homeland and permanently rooted in any land; their nomadism supposedly manifests in natural tendencies toward cosmopolitanism. Volkist landscape – a landscape that devours
We are therefore entangled in various relationships with landscapes. The landscape, composed of two words – land and scape (The origin of the word ‘landscape’ comes from the Germanic languages. One of the oldest references in the Dutch language dates from the early thirteenth century when ‘lantscap’ (‘lantscep’, ‘landschap’) referred to a land region or environment. It is related to the word ‘land’, meaning a bordered territory, but its suffix -seep refers to land reclamation and creation. Marc Antrop: A brief history of landscape research) – is somewhat mystical, essentially an idea. It is also a completely imagined picture needed by the national state, which possesses its territory with boundaries drawn on maps and marked in space. Only those who belong to the nation can live in it. The Volkist landscape is a predatory landscape for those who do not meet the specified criteria: those without the appropriate soul. In this very landscape, the figure of the woman disappears. It consumes her, devours her. There is no trace left of her.
